The mission of the Jones finance team is to become “Trusted Business Partners” within each business unit.  This is accomplished by informing, supporting and challenging our colleagues. Critical to the position is ensuring integrity and accuracy of the financial records and timely reporting and analysis of the financial position of the business.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists and helps drive a timely closing process
  • Delivers timely and accurate financial reports
  • Prepares closing journal entries, and supporting calculations/documentation correctly and timely
  • Complete and accurate monthly management reports by strict deadline
  • General Ledger/Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Complete analysis and reporting specific to the pipeline division of the business
  • Useful and accurate analysis and commentary provided to pipeline division managers and accounting managers


  • Bachelor’s in Accounting
  • 4+ years in public accounting preferred
  • Prior cost accounting/construction accounting experience preferred
  • Previous experience using an ERP system as primary accounting software is preferred
  • Fundamental understanding of internal financial processes-monthly closing, year-end closing, and annual audits
  • Enthusiasm for being part of a team and working in a team oriented environment
  • Self-motivated and forward-thinking, detail-oriented, and self-aware
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
