National Digital Library Project Created
1995

The National Digital Library Project is created, an initiative to provide broadband Internet access to the Library of Congress. The Project has raised over $45 million in congressional funds to begin digitizing the contents of the Library.

1995

The Global Alliance of Transnational Education® (GATE®) is established, a global consortium of international business, higher education and government entities looking to establish quality assurance for educational programs that cross national borders.

JIU Launches First Courses
1995

Jones International University® launches its first courses, initially offering a Master of Arts in Business Communication. It has since added a Bachelor of Arts in Business Communication; five Bachelor of Science in Information Technology degrees; six Master of Education in e-Learning degrees; seven MBA degrees, in English and Spanish; and more than 50 executive and professional certificate programs.

Cyberschools, An Education Renaissance

Free Market Fusion Published

Glenn R. Jones' next book is published: Free Market Fusion, which promotes the unique, successful relationship that can result when entrepreneurs and innovative nonprofit organizations pursue common goals.

Cable TV Business Sold
1999

Jones, who grew his cable TV business from one system serving a few hundred customers to a Top Ten cable company with more than 1.5 million customers, sells his cable company in order to focus on the field of online learning.

Jones e-global library Established
1999

Jones e-global library®, a suite of online research tools that covers all major academic disciplines and key business areas, is launched to support Jones International University.
